StreamAgent vs. Vidyard: who does the selling, the rep or the video?

Vidyard arms sales reps with personal video outreach. StreamAgent arms the video itself: one route that asks, gates, and scores your whole audience around the clock.

Vidyard in 2026 is not the humble screen recorder people remember. AI avatars record a video in your likeness, a Video Agent sends personalized videos automatically when a buyer trips a trigger, and the whole thing plugs deep into Salesforce and HubSpot. It is a serious machine for one job: getting a video in front of a prospect. The comparison worth making is about what happens once the prospect presses play.

The short answer

Vidyard automates the sending. Reps, avatars, and triggers put personalized videos into inboxes and LinkedIn messages at scale, then report who watched and for how long, straight into your CRM.

StreamAgent automates the selling. One funnel meets every viewer, asks what they need, branches to the pitch that fits, captures the email at peak interest, scores intent natively, and streams what it learned to your ad platforms. The leverage is not in how many videos you can send. It is in what each video does with the person watching.

Vidyard scales the outreach. StreamAgent scales the qualification.

Credit where due: the sending machine is real

Vidyard’s AI push deserves respect. Train an avatar on ninety seconds of footage and it produces personalized videos in your likeness in twenty-five languages; the Video Agent wires that to CRM triggers so prospects get a video without a rep touching anything. If your bottleneck is outreach volume with a human face, they have built the best version of that machine.

But notice what stays constant: every one of those videos, avatar or not, lands as a linear message. The viewer watches, maybe clicks a call to action, maybe passes an email gate. The video itself never asks who they are, never adapts, never qualifies. Scale the sending a hundredfold and you have scaled the same conversation.

The player is where the deal happens

Vidyard does have in-player tools, and fairness requires saying so: full-screen CTAs, banners, email gates, even marketing-automation forms embedded mid-video. What it does not have is logic. There is no branching engine, no scored questions, no path analytics; their own knowledge base offers choose-your-own-adventure only as a hand-coded HTML workaround. StreamAgent’s player is the qualification engine: the skeptic routes to proof, the buyer routes to the offer, the quiz scores while it engages, and the gate lands at each path’s peak moment.

Testing: still nobody’s job in an outreach tool

There is no A/B testing anywhere in Vidyard’s current platform, which makes sense for one-to-one messages, and is exactly the gap when video carries your pitch at scale. Smart Rotations put versions behind one link, split the traffic, and promote the winner on the numbers that matter: captures, intent scores, conversions. Your pitch gets measurably better every week. An unsent test cannot.

Scoring: in your stack, or in the product

Vidyard’s watch data flows into HubSpot or Marketo, and you build the scoring rules there: points for eighty percent watched, a workflow for the rest. It works if you own the stack and someone maintains the rules, and it can only score what watching reveals. StreamAgent ships lead intelligence natively: behavior plus declared answers plus path choices in one intent score, every lead ranked with a dossier, nothing to wire first. Your reps can even skip the dashboard and ask the workspace’s AI assistant who to call today.

Ads: one side of this table is empty

Vidyard’s integration directory has no ad platforms in it at all. No Meta, no Google, no TikTok, no LinkedIn ads, no pixels, no conversion events, no retargeting. If you buy traffic, that is a hard stop: your campaigns learn nothing from the videos doing your selling. StreamAgent streams intent-graded conversion events to all four platforms through their Conversions APIs, browser and server, so the same budget drifts toward buyers as the pixels learn.

Choose Vidyard if

  • Your motion is outbound and volume of personalized touches is the bottleneck.
  • AI avatars and triggered video sends fit how your sales team works.
  • Your CRM is where you want watch data, notifications, and scoring to live.

Choose StreamAgent if

  • Video carries your pitch and should qualify viewers, not just reach them.
  • You want branching, scored questions, and gates with logic, not workarounds.
  • You want versions tested by Smart Rotations and leads ranked by lead intelligence.
  • You buy traffic and need your ad platforms trained on intent.

Plenty of teams could justify both: Vidyard to open conversations, StreamAgent to run the funnel that closes them. But if you are choosing one place for the leverage, choose the one that works after the play button.

Sending more videos starts more conversations. Smarter videos finish them.
