StreamAgent vs. Vidalytics: the player that converts, or the pipeline that closes?
Vidalytics is the best VSL player in the category: autoplay, exit behavior, native A/B, revenue-attributed tracking. StreamAgent keeps the person: scored, ranked leads, booking in the player, server-side ad signals. The honest breakdown.
Vidalytics is the comparison we get asked about most by people who already sell with video sales letters, and for good reason: it is the one product in this series built from day one for the direct-response marketer. Its tagline is “video hosting built to convert, not just play,” and after a week in its documentation we would not argue with it. It is not hosting. It is a conversion-tuned player with nine years of VSL instincts baked in, and the honest version of this comparison starts by saying so.
The short answer
Vidalytics optimizes the play. Smart Autoplay that restarts with sound on the first click, exit thumbnails when a viewer pauses, timed CTAs that unhide the buy button at the right second, branching Smart Vids, native A/B Experiments with a winner recommender, heatmaps and a funnel view, revenue-attributed conversion tracking, and tags pushed to your CRM at each watch milestone. Everything points at one question: how do we get more of the people who press play to the order form?
StreamAgent optimizes what the play produces. The viewer is asked, scored, captured, and booked inside the video, and the result is a lead you can see: a person with a journey, a score, and a place on a call sheet, whose intent is streamed to your ad platforms server-side so the next campaign finds more like them. Everything points at a different question: who just watched, how ready are they, and what do we do next?
One tunes the player until more people buy. The other tunes the pipeline until you know who to call.
| Vidalytics | StreamAgent | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | VSLs and direct-response funnels: more of the play turning into orders | Pipelines: pitches that turn viewers into scored, ranked leads |
| Capture | Play Gates (name, email, phone) saved by pushing to your CRM or Zapier | Gates, scored quizzes, polls, and a booking step; the lead lives in the product |
| Who watched | Aggregate segments and heatmaps; individual behavior surfaces as tags in your CRM | A per-viewer journey and intent score, ranked into a call sheet |
| Branching | Smart Vids: questions, hotspots, loops, templates; choices tagged to your CRM | Routes: paths, scored questions, gates, and booking on long-form pitches |
| Testing | Experiments: native A/B, two variants, one goal metric, winner recommender | Smart Rotations: versions behind one link, judged on captures and lead quality |
| Ad platforms | Facebook pixel micro-conversions by watch %, GTM events, browser-side | Intent-graded conversions to Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn, browser and server |
| Booking a call | An exit CTA that links out to your calendar | Built-in scheduler or Calendly / Cal.com inside the player; the video resumes after |
| Making the video | Bring footage; AI Script Analyzer scores the transcript | In-browser studio with teleprompter and mid-take screen share |
Credit where due: the player is the best in the category
If your business is a cold-traffic VSL, Vidalytics has thought about your player more than anyone. Smart Autoplay plays with sound when the browser allows it and restarts from the top with audio on the first click when it does not. Exit thumbnails and exit CTAs catch the pause. Timed custom HTML can reveal the order button at the exact second the pitch earns it, and show it immediately to a returning viewer. Experiments let you run two videos, or two settings of one video, against each other and tell you when the result is real. The conversion tracking attributes revenue back to the play, with benchmarks against a large corpus of VSLs. The integrations list reads like a direct-response stack: HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Keap, HighLevel, Kartra, Zapier, Shopify. And their AI-optimized embed, which injects a summary, chapters, and structured metadata for answer engines, is a real discoverability move, on every plan. None of this is marketing fluff, and a fair reader should weigh it.
Where the trail ends
Here is the structural difference. In Vidalytics, a Play Gate collects a name and email, and then, in their own words, you connect a CRM or Zapier to save it. The product does not keep a list of who watched. Individual behavior reaches you as tags on a contact record somewhere else: watched 50 percent, clicked the CTA, chose answer B. Aggregate analytics are excellent; the person is not in the room. Smart Vid questions route, but they do not score, and there is no poll, no intent score, and no ranked list, because the model is “tune the player, send the signal to your CRM, let the CRM sort it out.”
StreamAgent keeps the person. A viewer who answers a scored quiz, chooses the pricing branch, rewatches the proof, and books a call becomes one record with all of that on it, ranked by an intent score against everyone else who watched. Your CRM still gets the tag and the webhook; the difference is that the intelligence is native, so the Monday call sheet exists without a Zap.
Ads: the pixel versus the server
Vidalytics fires watch-percentage events through the Facebook pixel already on your page and through Google Tag Manager, which is useful for retargeting audiences by how far people watched. It is browser-side only; there is no server-side Conversions API path and no native Google Ads, TikTok, or LinkedIn conversion integration in the documentation. StreamAgent sends intent-graded conversion events to all four platforms from the browser and the server, deduplicated, including a booked call as a booked-appointment conversion, the difference we laid out in the CAPI guide. For a lead-gen account that buys traffic, it is the difference between telling Meta someone watched and teaching Meta who buys.
Testing: two variants, or the whole version
Experiments is a genuinely good feature, and for a VSL where the question is “which hook wins” it is exactly right: two variants, one metric, a recommender that says when to call it. Smart Rotations answer a wider question. Versions of a whole pitch, or whole routes, are served by audience behind one link, with a control share held out so the lift of each arrangement over your baseline is measured on captures and lead quality rather than one rate; a plain two-way split is one configuration of that, and the audience question is the one it was built for. If your test is two thumbnails, Experiments is faster. If your test is two pitches for two kinds of visitor, rotations are the right tool.
Choose Vidalytics if
- You run VSLs to cold traffic and your conversion lives on the order page, not in a conversation.
- You want second-by-second player optimization (autoplay, exit behavior, timed reveals) and revenue-attributed conversion tracking with benchmarks.
- Your CRM is the system of record and tags pushed into it are exactly what you want.
Choose StreamAgent if
- The conversion is a qualified conversation: services, software, courses, high-ticket.
- You want leads scored, ranked, and visible in the product, with the call booked inside the video.
- You buy traffic and want server-side, intent-graded conversions on Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- You need to make the videos, not just host them: studio, teleprompter, screen share.
If your whole business is the VSL and the checkout, Vidalytics has earned its reputation and you should take it seriously. If the video is where the relationship starts and a call is where it closes, pick the platform that was built for what happens after the play.
Vidalytics tunes the play. StreamAgent keeps the person.
